Chelsea sold Thorgan Hazard to Borussia Monchengladbach last year, having never made a first team appearance for the Blues.

And, in a similar way to that of Kevin De Bruyne, the 23-year-old has rebuilt his career in the Bundesliga, and is beginning to fulfil the potential many saw in him during his frustrating time at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard, brother of Chelsea forward Eden, has netted seven goals in 14 games for Monchengladbach this season, including four in their Champions League campaign.

And, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have a buy-out clause in Hazard’s contract, which means they could secure a deal for the Belgium international for just £13 million, significantly less than what he’s worth in today’s market.

However, that option expires on December 31 this year, so the Blues need to agree a deal prior to the window opening to get their man for a cut price.

Hazard would certainly bolster Chelsea’s attacking options and, if he has the same effect as De Bruyne has had at Manchester City, then Chelsea would get one hell of a player for just £13 million.
