Chelsea have reportedly offered fellow forward Christian Atsu in a bid to land Premier League star Riyad Mahrez this month, according to Marca.
The defending Premier League champions, who currently sit 14th in the league table, are understood to have launched a bid of £15m plus the Ghana international for the Leicester City winger.
The 24-year-old, who has 22 international caps for Algeria, has sensationally scored 13 and assisted six goals in 21 league appearances for Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes this season.
Mahrez, who cost Leicester just £400,000 from Le Havre two years ago, is wanted by Blues interim boss Guus Hiddink to fire his side up the Premier League standings during the second-half of the 2015-16 campaign.
Chelsea winger Atsu, who cut short his season-long loan spell at AFC Bournemouth having played just two League Cup games for the Cherries, has not played a first-team fixture for the Stamford Bridge outfit since arriving from FC Porto back in September 2013 for a reported £3.5m.
