Alex Teixeira has been in high-demand during the January transfer window.

With Alexandre Pato already a surprise capture from Corinthians, you may not think Chelsea will be looking at adding another attacker in January.

However, the former AC Milan star is only at Stamford Bridge until the summer, and with Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy also set to depart the club at the end of the campaign they could do worse than trying to make a move for one of their big targets in this window.

Alex Teixeira isn’t an out and out striker, but as someone who likes to play in the number 10 position, is one that will compliment any squad.

He’s been linked with a move to the Blues over the past few months, and now with Liverpool having had two bids (£24m & £28m) rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk, don’t be surprised to see the current Premier League champions try and beat their rivals to the talented Brazilian’s signature.

The 26-year-old is yet to be capped by his country, and is somewhat of a late bloomer. But with 48 goals in his last 62 appearances for the Ukrainian side, surely he’ll be snapped up by one of Europe’s more established clubs in the very near future.
