Chelsea returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, as an injury time penalty from Jorginho gifted them victory over Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues has fallen behind early on before going ahead through Mason Mount and Jorginho’s first penalty, however a late Leeds equaliser looked to have further dented their title hopes, before the Italian’s dramatic added-time winner.

Both penalties were won by Antonio Rudiger, who continues to be a fan favourite for both his performances and the passion he demonstrates each week.

The German, who struggled under Frank Lampard, has been arguably Chelsea’s standout player since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival in SW6 in January.

However, Tuchel and Blues fans alike will be wary of the defender’s contract situation, with the German set to be out of contract in the summer and potentially able to agree a deal in January.

As per current rules, the defender will be free to agree a pre-contract agreement with any foreign side from next month.

And, according to El Nacional, the Germany international’s situation has angered Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

The report suggests that the Russian has been infuriated by Rudiger’s situation, and particularly by Real Madrid’s apparent pursuit of the player.

The Spanish giants have been heavily linked with a move for the player, but Abramovich has been angered by this and is now apparently considering snubbing a move for Eden Hazard.

The Belgian had been linked with a sensational return to Chelsea as he looks to end his nightmare spell in the Spanish capital, with Los Blancos reportedly demanding less than £30 million for the 30-year-old.

Madrid are keen to get Hazard’s wages off of their books with the forward having only made 40 La Liga appearances in three years, however Abramovich could decide to snub a potential deal for the player out of spite if the Spanish side sign Rudiger.

The Russian multi-millionaire is also believed to be unhappy at Rudiger himself as the Germany international has so far refused to sign an extension to his current deal with the club.
