Chelsea are considering a move for Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller as a replacement for Spain international Diego Costa, should he leave the club in January, according to reports from the Express.

The future of the club’s star striker has been thrown into doubt after reports of a training ground row with coaching staff as well as a potential £30m-a-year offer from China on the table.

Whilst the club remain adamant that Costa will not leave, they are being forced to consider alternatives.

According to the report, Muller is unhappy with his game time under former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern Munich and the Blues could look to take advantage of this.

The powers that be at Stamford Bridge are plotting a whopping £75m offer for the Germany international, who has five Bundesliga titles, a Champions League and World Cup to his name.

The 27-year-old has an outstanding record with the German champions, having scored 156 goals since joining the first team in 2009.
