Chelsea have slapped a £22million price-tag on striker Michy Batshuayi, according to reports.

The 26-year-old is playing back-up to the in-form Tammy Abraham this term but did net after coming on as a substitute in the 4-1 win at Southampton last time out.

Batshuayi has failed to hold down a regular starting place with the Blues since a transfer from Marseille in 2016 and has had loan spells with Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and, most recently, Crystal Palace.

Abraham has been on fire in front of goal for Chelsea.

According to the Daily Express, the Eagles are keen on signing the Belgium international in January on a permanent deal after he scored six times for the Selhurst Park club at the back end of last season.

Although Blues boss Frank Lampard has used Batshuayi on six occasions this term, it’s claimed that Palace hope they can persuade Chelsea to sell as they have Olivier Giroud available to step in.

In those six matches, the popular striker has netted three goals, taking his tally to 22 in 59 games for the West London side.

The former Standard Liege star is currently on international duty preparing for Belgium’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against San Marino and Kazakhstan.
