Chelsea face Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

Enzo Maresca’s side face the Seagulls twice in a week, with a Premier League rip to the south coast just six days after Saturday’s match at The Amex.

The Italian will be desperate to see his side get the better of Brighton and progress into the fifth round of the competition, and he will hope that his side can pick up where they left off during their win over West Ham United last time out.

In the meantime, it appears that the West London outfit are considering a move to re-sign one of their former players.

According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea are considering a summer move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The England international has been the subject of offers from both Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur over the past year, and the report claims that the Blues sounded out a potential move for the centre-back during the recent window.

Guehi has been the subject of interest from several clubs

Guehi, 24, departed Stamford Bridge to join Palace in 2021, having made just two senior appearances for the Blues.

He had been regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in the Blues’ academy and had also impressed on loan at Swansea City prior to his move to Selhurst Park.

Since joining the Eagles the defender has played 139 times across all competitions and is also now the club’s captain, as well as being a regular for England.

The report claims that Chelsea reached out to the player’s representatives during the January window, but it became apparent that Palace had no intention of selling the Englishman.

Guehi is, however, now in the final 18 months of his current contract with Crystal Palace, and his price tag may therefore fall when the transfer window reopens this summer.
