Chelsea have reportedly been linked with a sensational £50m move for Spain international Paco Alcacer.

The defending Premier League champions, who slumped to 15th in the table following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at West Ham United, are understood to have made the Valencia star their number one transfer target ahead of the January window.

The 22-year-old, who only signed a new five-year deal with the La Liga outfit during the summer, has netted twice in eight league games so far this season.

Alcacer, who has scored an impressive six goals inside his opening ten international caps, has caught the attention of numerous European elite clubs this campaign, although the striker’s huge £50m buy-out clause at the Mestalla Stadium is set to be the biggest stumbling block.
