Chelsea plotting £25m raid on French international forward

Chelsea are reportedly poised to make a January swoop for France international forward Antoine Griezmann.

The defending Premier League champions, who lost 1-0 to newly promoted AFC Bournemouth on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements next month if the Blues are to finish in the top four come the end of the season.

Griezmann, 24, who has 20 international caps to his name, has scored an impressive 11 goals in all competitions for Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid so far this term, including a further four assists.

Valued at around £25m by the La Liga club; Griezmann is set to top Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s January wish list, although West Brom hitman Saido Berahino has almost emerged as a potential target with the Blues currently all the way down in 14th spot in the league table.
