Chelsea play German giants Borussia Dortmund on Thursday as they continue their pre-season preparations.

New Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has impressed so far this summer, scoring against both Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United.

The Blues have undergone a huge clear-out this summer as they prepare for the upcoming Premier League campaign under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The West Londoners have sold many members of the squad that had an abysmal campaign last season, which resulted in them finishing in 12th place.

Todd Boehly has sold the likes of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mateo Kovacic, and Christian Pulisic, as he attempts to overhaul Pochettino’s side.

Despite signing Cristopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and Angelo, Chelsea do not appear to be finished in the transfer market this summer.

Following the departure of Edouard Mendy to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli, the Blues are seeking an opportunity to sign a new goalkeeper, and it seems they have now found their top target.

According to Mail Online, Chelsea are exploring a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Robert Sanchez.

Robert Sanchez has been identified as Chelsea’s main goalkeeper target

The report claims that the goalkeeper has found himself out of favour on the south coast following Roberto De Zerbi’s decision to favour Jason Steele last term, and the recent arrival of Bart Verbruggen.

Sanchez, 25, rose through the Seagulls’ youth ranks after joining the club in 2014 from Levante.

Due to the long time he spent in Brighton’s youth academy, the Spaniard is classed as a homegrown player.

Chelsea want the 25-year-old to provide first-team competition for fellow Spaniard Kepa Arizzabalaga, who is trying to prove his worth to new boss Pochettino.

Despite falling out of favour at The Amex, the Spaniard has previously impressed for the Seagulls which caused him to gain interest from Manchester United and Tottenham, before they ultimately opted to look elsewhere.

It is believed that the Seagulls have placed a £30m price tag on the 25-year-old ‘keeper, who has made a total of 90 appearances for Brighton across all competitions.

The Spaniard’s contract doesn’t expire until the summer of 2025, which would put Brighton in a commanding position during any potential negotiations.
