Chelsea ready to hijack Man Utd’s move for Southampton star

Chelsea are reportedly considering making a surprise swoop for Italy international Graziano Pelle next month.

The defending Premier League champions, who currently hover just one point above the bottom three after their opening 16 fixtures, are prepared to hijack rivals Manchester United’s January move for the Southampton star striker.

The 30-year-old, who has 10 international caps for his country, has scored six league goals in 15 outings for the Saints so far this season.

With Blues boss Jose Mourinho unhappy with the form of current forwards Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao at Stamford Bridge this term, he is understood to be keen on securing a move for Pelle in the forthcoming transfer window.
