Two late goals earned Chelsea a much needed victory over Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

The Blues were dominant in terms of possession during the first-half at Selhurst Park, but failed to have a single shot and went into the break behind after Jefferson Lerma’s long-range strike.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were transformed after the break, though, and equalised just minutes in when former Eagles loanee Conor Gallagher netted his first Premier League goal of the campaign.

The game looked to be heading for a draw before midfielder Gallagher grabbed his second of the game to put the Blues in front.

Enzo Fernandez then scored for the second successive match to cement Chelsea’s victory, moving the Blues up to tenth place in the Premier League table.

Now, it appears that the West London outfit are ready to sell one of their most expensive ever signings.

Cucurella is contracted to Chelsea until 2028

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are ready to sell left-back Marc Cucurella this summer, just two years after he joined the club.

The Spaniard cost Chelsea around £65 million when he signed from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2022, but his time at Stamford Bridge has been largely underwhelming.

In total the 25-year-old has made 45 appearances across all competitions, but he hasn’t featured since early December due to injury.

Cucurella has primarily acted as understudy to vice captain Ben Chilwell during his time in London, although the Englishman’s continued injury problems have allowed the Spain international several opportunities to impress.

At present, the former Getafe man is contracted to Chelsea until the summer of 2028.

Last summer, the full-back was linked with a surprise loan switch to Premier League rivals Manchester United, but the move never materialised.

At the end of the current season, though, Chelsea will look to offload the Spaniard.
