Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that his side can continue their recent good form when they face London rivals Arsenal on Saturday.

The Blues started the new season slowly but have won their past three games across all competitions, including back-to-back victories over Fulham and Burnley.

Pochettino’s side now face a daunting run of games, though, including fixtures against the Gunners, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Manchester United.

Chelsea have been using the current international break to scout potential transfer targets, it seems.

According to Record via The Express, the Blues watched Ivory Coast international Ousmane Diomande during their 1-1 draw against Morocco on Saturday.

Diomande, 19, currently plays for Portuguese side Sporting CP and has been in fine form over the past few months.

Diomande has impressed since joining Sporting in January

The teenager joined his current side from Danish club FC Midtjylland in January, following a successful loan spell at fellow Portuguese side Mafra.

In total he has made 27 appearances for Sporting across all competitions, scoring on three occasions.

It is also claimed that Chelsea have joined Arsenal in showing interest in the young defender, with the Gunners said to have made an offer worth up to £30 million for the player during the recent transfer window.

Chelsea have signed Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi from Monaco this year, but it remains to be seen whether or not veteran centre-back Thiago Silva will remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the current season.

Despite interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, the report claims that Diomande is happy in the Portuguese capital and would even be willing to sign a contract extension.

The defender has been capped three times at international level, having made his senior debut for Ivory Coast in a 1-0 win over Lesotho in September.
