Chelsea seal deal for 26-goal free-scoring midfielder

Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Brazilian ace Alex Teixiera next month.

The defending Premier League champions, who currently lie 15th in the standings after losing nine of their opening 17 fixtures, are understood to have thrashed out a deal for the Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder before the January transfer window has opened.

The 25-year-old, who is surprisingly uncapped at international level, has scored a staggering 26 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions for the Ukrainian outfit so far this season.

Teixeria, who was also a transfer target for former Blues boss Jose Mourinho, is rated at around £30m.
