Chelsea supporters will have been left disappointed by The Blues’ performance against Fulham on Friday, as the two sides played out a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.

Graham Potter gave a debut to Premier League record signing Enzo Fernandez in midfield, while Mykhaylo Mudryk made his first start for the club since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Despite the array of talent on show, The Blues were unable to find a breakthrough in west London, and the draw dented their hopes of qualifying for the European places even further.

Now that the January transfer window has closed, Chelsea are reportedly set to begin talks with one of their current stars about a contract extension.

According to 90min, the London side will now focus on agreeing a new contract with midfielder Mason Mount.

The England international has struggled in recent weeks, but the report claims that he will be offered a new deal as those in charge of the club look to tie him down for the long-term.

Mount is in line for a new deal at Stamford Bridge

Mount, 24, progressed from the Chelsea academy and has established himself in the first team at Stamford Bridge over the past few seasons.

The midfielder has already made more than 180 appearances for The Blues, scoring 33 goals and registering 37 assists across all competitions.

Earlier this season, owner Todd Boehly reportedly prioritised new deals for both Mount and Reece James.

James penned a new six-year-deal towards the end of last year, and the club are now focussed on persuading Mount to do the same.

It is claimed that the club are prepared to make Mount one of the highest-paid players at the club, as a reward for his performances over the past two years.

Mount’s agent is said to be aware that the Englishman is attracting interest from elsewhere, but the player is said to be intent on remaining with his boyhood club.
