Chelsea’s dismal start to the new Premier League season continued as they were held to a goalless draw by Bournemouth on Sunday.

The Blues currently sit 14th in the table having picked up just five points from five games, and new manager Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to turn things around as soon as possible.

Next up for Chelsea is a game against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, before a Carabao Cup game against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke all missed the trip to the south coast due to injury, taking the number of first team players currently sidelined to 12.

Some, including Armando Broja and Benoit Badiashile, are nearing a return to action, while the likes of Wesley Fofana and Christopher Nkunku will be out for some time.

Club captain Reece James, who was injured against Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season, is said to be eyeing a return in the next month.

In the meantime, Chelsea’s stance on accepting an offer for the player has been revealed.

James hasn’t played since being forced off injured on the opening weekend of the season

As per Football Insider, the West London outfit would only consider allowing James to leave if a huge offer was made.

The 23-year-old is a product of Chelsea’s academy and has made 148 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Over the past few seasons he has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the world, but he has struggled with injuries throughout his senior career.

The report claims that Chelsea are hopeful of building a team around James, despite his injury woes.

Last year the defender signed a contract extension that is set to run until the summer of 2028, but he has been the subject of interest from Real Madrid for some time now.
