Chelsea face Premier League high-flyers Aston Villa in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday evening.

Last time out the Blues booked their place in the Carabao Cup final with a comprehensive 6-1 win over Middlesbrough, with Liverpool awaiting them in the final at Wembley next month.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hopeful that his side can continue their good form against Villa, with the Blues having won seven of their last eight games at Stamford Bridge, including a penalty shoot out victory over Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup.

Now, though, it appears that Chelsea are having to fend off interest from a rival in one of their defenders.

According to Football London, Liverpool remain interested in Chelsea defender Levi Colwill, but the Blues have no interest in selling the player.

Colwill, 20, was a target for the Reds last summer but failed to lure the Englishman away from London.

Despite rumours that the Merseyside outfit are still interested in the player, the report claims that Chelsea have no intentions of selling Colwill and would have to receive a world record offer for a defender to even entertain the prospect of doing so.

Colwill is a graduate of Chelsea’s youth academy and, having previously spent time on loan at Huddersfield Town and Brighton and Hove Albion, returned to Stamford Bridge last summer to join Pochettino’s first team.

He made his debut against Liverpool on the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign, and has now made 27 appearances for the Blues across all competitions.

The player has, however, primarily been used out of his natural position, instead being deployed as a makeshift left-back in the absence of Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella.

Last August, the centre-back signed a long-term contract extension that is set to run until 2028.
