Tottenham Hotspur will hope to return to winning ways when they face struggling Wolves on Sunday afternoon.

The Lilywhites were held to a 1-1 draw by Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday, and they have also won just one of their last five Premier League matches.

At present, Ange Postecoglou’s side sit 14th in the Premier League table and are set to miss out on qualification for European football next term, unless they can win the Europa League and reach the Champions League.

This summer, those in charge of Spurs will likely want to bolster Postecoglou’s squad, and it appears that they have identified a player from one of their fiercest rivals as a target.

According to TBR Football, Tottenham are showing interest in Chelsea defender Renato Veiga, who is currently on loan at Italian side Juventus.

The report claims that both the North London outfit, and Brighton and Hove Albion, are keeping tabs on the Portugal international ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Veiga was part of the Chelsea squad for the first half of the season before departing for Turin

Veiga, 21, joined the Blues from FC Basel last summer but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in Enzo Maresca’s side, and was therefore sent out on loan to Juventus in January.

Since moving to Turin, the defender has featured eight times for the Old Lady across all competitions.

The report suggests that Juventus are not considering a permanent move for the Portuguese, who will therefore return to Stamford Bridge when his loan ends at the end of the current campaign.

Uncertainty surrounding the future of current Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile suggests that Veiga could have a future in West London, however Spurs and the Seagulls are both monitoring the player’s situation in case he does become available this summer.
