Chelsea return to Premier League action when they face relegation-threatened Burnley after the international break.

The Blues have endured a difficult season so far but reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a 4-2 win over Leicester City last time out.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were beaten 1-0 by rivals Liverpool in the Carabao Cup last month, denying the Argentine his first trophy in English football.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss will be desperate to lift the FA Cup this season, and he will be relying on talisman Cole Palmer to help his side do so.

Palmer has been enjoying a sensational first season in West London, but his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

As per Football Insider, a number of top Premier League and European clubs have shown an interest in the midfielder.

Palmer has been arguably Chelsea’s best player so far this season

The 21-year-old joined the Blues from boyhood club Man City last summer, having failed to establish himself as a regular under Pep Guardiola.

Since moving to the capital, the midfielder has been in fine form, scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists in 34 games across all competitions.

The report claims that the Blues are ready to offer the player an improved deal to reflect his importance to Pochettino’s side, however several clubs are monitoring his situation.

When he completed his move to Stamford Bridge, Palmer signed a long-term contract that is set to run until the end of the 2029/30 season.

Despite apparent interest from elsewhere, the report does also suggest that Chelsea aren’t worried about losing the player and remain confident that he will sign an extension.

Palmer is said to be happy in West London, but Chelsea’s continued absence from the Champions League could eventually prove to be a sticking point.
