Chelsea had to come from behind to beat League Two AFC Wimbledon and book their place in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday.

The Dons took a surprise lead at Stamford Bright, before Noni Madueke drew the hosts level from the penalty spot shortly before the break.

Mauricio Pochettino was visibly frustrated at his side’s performance and, having rotated his squad for the tie, eventually turned to Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson.

The former made the difference for the Blues, with his first goal for the club earning an unconvincing victory and setting up a meeting with Brighton and Hove Albion in the next round.

Chelsea have been the busiest Premier League club during the current transfer window with several incomings and outgoings, and the West London club are expected to complete the signing of Manchester City’s Cole Palmer before Friday’s deadline.

It also appears that one of their academy graduates could depart Stamford Bridge permanently.

According to 90min, winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is close to completing a move to fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

Hudson-Odoi is set to depart Chelsea to join Nottingham Forest

The report claims that Chelsea’s West London rivals Fulham were leading the race to sign Hudson-Odoi, but the Cottagers were unable to reach an agreement and the player is now destined for a move to The City Ground.

Hudson-Odoi, 22, is a product of Chelsea’s fruitful youth academy and has made 126 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and providing 22 assists.

Having featured regularly under Maurizio Sarri, though, the three-time England international fell down the pecking order at the club and he was loaned out to German side Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

During his single season in Germany, the winger made 21 appearances but scored just once and provided only one assist.

He returned to London earlier this summer but has since been training with the reserves and, with it apparent that he isn’t part of Pochettino’s plans, he is now set to depart.

If the move is completed, Hudson-Odoi will be reunited with Forest boss Steve Cooper, who gave the player his England under-17 debut back in 2016.
