Chelsea will hope to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals when they face Leeds United in the fifth round on Wednesday evening.

The Blues were beaten by Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Sunday afternoon, with Virgil van Dijk scoring a header deep into extra-time to secure the trophy for the Merseyside outfit.

The result is the latest in a string of disappointing results for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and the Argentine will be desperate to see his side progress past the Whites on Wednesday evening.

In the meantime, it appears that one of Chelsea’s most senior players is committed to the club despite rumours suggesting otherwise.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, forward Raheem Sterling has invested in the Chelsea project despite links with a move to Saudi Arabia.

It has recently been rumoured that the England international’s agent has been in discussions with Pro League side Al Hilal, but Romano claims that Sterling’s representatives have reiterated that he is firmly committed to his current club.

Sterling has struggled so far this season

Sterling, 29, joined the Blues from Manchester City in 2022 but has since struggled to recreate the form he displayed for the Citizens.

The Englishman has scored 17 times in 70 games for Chelsea, compared to his record of 131 goals in 339 matches for City.

He is currently contracted to the Stamford Bridge side until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

The forward was one of several big money signings made during Todd Boehly’s first summer in charge of the club, with the American’s BlueCo consortium having now spent more than £1 billion on transfers in less than two years.

Since joining Chelsea, Sterling has lost his place in the England squad, and he looks almost certain to miss out on a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euros in Germany this summer.
