Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana became the eighth senior player to leave the club this summer as he departed for Germany on Tuesday.

The Ivorian forward has joined Bundesliga side Union Berlin on a season-long loan deal, following Cesar Azpilicueta, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Ruben Loftus-Cheek out of the exit at Stamford Bridge.

Now, though, it appears that another star is set to leave the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Christian Pulisic will be officially announced as an AC Milan player on Wednesday, having completed a move to the Italian side.

It is claimed that the winger will land in Italy on Wednesday morning before undergoing a medical and then signing his contract with his new club.

The USA international will sign a long-term contract until 2027, Romano claims, with the two clubs having already agreed a deal and signed the documents.

Pulisic is expected to join AC Milan on Wednesday

Pulisic, 24, joined the Blues back in 2019 from German side Borussia Dortmund and has endured highs and lows during his time in London.

In total the attacker has made 145 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea, scoring 26 goals and providing 21 assists.

The American struggled for game time last term, though, making just 30 appearances and starting just eight Premier League matches.

The arrivals of Raheem Sterling, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke over the past 12 months undoubtedly reduced the player’s game time, although he did also miss parts of last season due to a knee injury.

Pulisic won three trophies during his spell in London, most notably the Champions League back in 2021.

During his time in Germany, Pulisic scored 19 goals and provided 26 assists in 127 matches across all competitions.

Pulisic will join former Chelsea teammates Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud, and Loftus-Cheek in Milan.

Tomori and Giroud both joined the Serie A side back in 2021, while Loftus-Cheek made the move earlier this month.
