Chelsea will hope to end their blip in form when they make the short trip to face Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues had enjoyed a strong start to the season under new head coach Enzo Maresca and sat second in the Premier League heading into the Christmas period.

A draw against Everton followed by defeats against Fulham and Ipswich Town, however, has seen the Blues drop to fourth place.

While Maresca will still be happy with his side’s position, the Italian will be desperate to arrest his side’s dip in form by beating the Eagles on Saturday.

With the January transfer window now open, the Blues could delve into the market to bolster Maresca’s squad.

It appears, though, that one of Chelsea’s highest earners is eyeing a move to one of their fiercest rivals.

According to GiveMeSport, forward Christopher Nkunku is keen to leave Stamford Bridge during the current transfer window, and is eyeing a move to Arsenal.

The Frenchman joined the Blues from German side RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 but his debut season in England was plagued by injury.

Nkunku could leave Chelsea this month

This term the attacker has found his opportunities in the Premier League limited, with the majority of his game time coming in the Europa Conference League and the Carabao Cup.

In total, the 27-year-old has scored 12 goals in 27 games across all competitions this term, but he has started just three of Chelsea’s 19 Premier League matches.

The France international has scored ten goals in nine matches in cup competitions this term, but the report claims that he is growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of league minutes and could look to leave the club this month.

It is claimed that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his attacking options following an injury to Bukayo Saka, and Nkunku has therefore identified the Gunners as a possible destination should he leave Stamford Bridge.

Nkunku has more than four years remaining on his current Blues contract, which is believed to earn him around £300,000-per-week.
