Thomas Tuchel bagged his second trophy as Chelsea manager on Wednesday evening as the Blues held their nerve to beat Villarreal 6-5 on penalties in the UEFA Super Cup.

The Champions League holders had gone ahead through Hakim Ziyech, before the Moroccan was forced off with a shoulder injury.

In the second half, however, the Blues were pegged back by a goal from Gerard Moreno, and after a goalless period of extra-time, it headed to penalties.

Kai Havertz missed Chelsea’s first spot-kick before Kepa Arrizabalaga, who had been substituted on in the dying seconds, saved two Villarreal penalties to gift Chelsea victory.

It is now widely expected that the Premier League side will announce the club record signing of former striker Romelu Lukaku in the coming days, but it is expected that he will miss the opening league game against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Meanwhile, it appears it could be the end of the line for one current Chelsea star.

According to Goal, the Blues have accepted a £34 million bid from Serie A side Roma for Tammy Abraham.

The Englishman was left on the bench for the Super Cup and was not substituted on, despite Tuchel’s side pushing for a goal.

The deal is believed to include a buy-back clause but it is not yet known whether Abraham has agreed personal terms with the Italian side.

The Mirror adds that Abraham will meet with Roma boss Jose Mourinho, who has won three Premier League titles with Chelsea, to discuss the potential move.

Abraham has finished as Chelsea’s top scorer across all competitions in each of the past two seasons, but has struggled for game time since the arrival of Tuchel in January.
