Chelsea could be set to lose yet another of their defenders this summer as Marcos Alonso is intent on departing the Premier League.

Both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are set to be out of contract this summer and the duo look set to leave the capital.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva were in a similar situation, but the pair have agreed one-year extensions, although it appears Alonso could be on his way out.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move away in recent months, and the defender’s priority is now to leave the London club, according to reports.

As per Fabrizio Romano, the left-back plans to push for a move away this summer, with a return to his native Spain his most likely option.

The 31-year-old is a target for Barcelona, who have reportedly already agreed a deal to sign Alonso’s teammate Christensen, according to Romano.

The Dane is believed to have already agreed terms with Barcelona, ending an almost decade-long spell at Stamford Bridge.

It appears that he could be lining up alongside Alonso next season too, though, as the Catalan club are eyeing a move for the full-back.

Former Bolton and Sunderland man Alonso has divided opinion during his third spell in England, with his defensive abilities often criticised.

The Spanish international has impressed offensively, though, scoring 28 times in 208 games for the Blues.

The former Fiorentina man has established himself as a regular at left back in recent seasons for the club, although he did fall behind Ben Chilwell in the pecking order last term but recovered his starting spot when the Englishman got injured earlier this term.

Alonso has won six trophies during his time in London, including the Champions League, Premier League and Europa League.
