Chelsea will be looking to move closer to the Premier League’s European qualification places when they welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

With the top flight returning after the international break, The Blues will be hoping to get back to winning ways following a disappointing draw against Everton last time out.

Graham Potter’s side had put together a run of three consecutive victories before a late Toffees equaliser at Stamford Bridge prior to the international break ended that streak.

A month ago, Potter was under significant pressure to turn things around with his side in the midst of a dismal run of form, but it appears that in more recent weeks his array of new signings have started to gel.

Since last summer, The Blues have signed no fewer than 16 new players, but it appears that they could still look to bolster their squad once again when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.

Now, though, it appears that one of their current stars could be on his way out of the club.

Kante’s future remains very uncertain as he enters the final months of his contract

As per 90min, midfielder N’Golo Kante’s representatives are in contact with French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The player’s current contract is due to expire at the end of the season and his future remains uncertain, although The Blues are hoping to tie him down to a new deal before the summer.

Kante, 31, has established himself as one of the world’s best midfielders in recent seasons, winning a number of trophies including the Champions League and Premier League.

This term he has struggled with injuries, though, limiting him to just two appearances across all competitions.

The report claims that the Ligue 1 champions are hopeful of luring Kante back to the French top flight, a division that he previously spent time in with former club SM Caen.

Since joining Chelsea from Leicester City in 2016, the France international has made more than 260 appearances for his current side.

The player is said to be happy in London and is prioritising reaching an agreement with his current employers, who are said to be confident of striking a deal.
