Chelsea are set to be one of the busiest Premier League sides during this summer’s transfer window, with new head coach Enzo Maresca looking to shape his squad ahead of next term.

The Italian takes charge of the Blues this month, following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino at the end of last season.

Several players face uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge, with the club likely to have to sell this summer in order to avoid breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

Now, though, it has emerged that Chelsea are still interested in one of the world’s most talented strikers.

As per CaughtOffside, the West London club remain interested in Napoli star Victor Osimhen.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for the Nigeria international for several months now, although it appeared that their interest had faded of late.

Osimhen could still leave Napoli this summer

It is claimed, though, that the club are still working on a deal for the striker behind closed doors and are making gradual progress.

Osimhen, 25, has established himself as one of the best forwards in European football since joining Napoli from French side Lille in the summer of 2020.

He has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for the Serie A side across all competitions, helping the club to the Serie A title during the 2022/23 campaign.

The report also claims that Chelsea could benefit from the fact that French champions Paris Saint-Germain have not yet formalised their interest in Osimhen, while Premier League rivals Arsenal do not consider the striker a priority for this summer.

Osimhen is currently contracted to Napoli until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, but the player himself is said to be keen to leave the club this summer.
