Premier League midfielder John Obi Mikel is the subject of a £6m offer from Shanghai SIPG, according to the Daily Mail.

The Chelsea midfielder, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from FK Lyn for an estimated £14m back in July 2006, is wanted by former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson at the Chinese outfit.

The 30-year-old, who has 71 international caps for Nigeria, has failed to score in 15 appearances in all competitions for the defending Premier League champions this season.

Mikel, who has made over 350 first-team appearances for the club, is being offered wages of £60,000-a-week after tax with Shanghai.
