Chelsea will look to Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries having failed to land Jules Kounde from Sevilla.

According to The Evening Standard, the Blues’ bid for the La Liga star fell short of Sevilla’s asking price, and they are reluctant to improve their offer considering Thomas Tuchel’s initial uncertainty over the player.

With Kounde now seemingly likely to join Barcelona, Chelsea will look to a number of other options including Dumfries, who made 45 appearances across all competitions for Inter last term.

Dumfries has emerged as a target for Chelsea

The Dutchman can play at right wing or right wing-back, which could make him a suitable replacement for club captain Cesar Azpilicueta, who looks set to join Barcelona.

Inter need to sell at least one major player this summer in order to reduce their wage bill and Dumfries’ teammate Milan Skriniar is another option that Chelsea have considered.

Other targets for the Blues are believed to include Benjamin Pavard and Dayot Upamecano.
