Chelsea will look to return to winning ways when they face Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening.

The Blues have endured a dismal season so far and were beaten by struggling Wolves at Molineux last time out.

That result means that Mauricio Pochettino’s side go into the game against Palace in 11th place, although victory over the Eagles would move the Blues above Bournemouth.

In the meantime, it appears that the West London club are set to miss out on one of their transfer targets.

As per TEAMtalk, Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres is unlikely to agree a move to the Premier League and is instead intent on securing a switch to another top European league.

The 25-year-old joined Sporting from Championship side Coventry City over the summer and has since been in superb form for the Portuguese side.

Gyokeres has been in sensational form so far this season

In total he has netted 17 times in 20 games across all competitions, and his impressive displays so far this term have attracted the attention of Chelsea.

Despite the Blues’ interest, the report claims that Gyokeres will put Premier League interest on hold as he instead looks to earn a big move on the continent.

It is also claimed that the Swede has an £86 million release clause in his current contract, which he signed when joining Sporting from the Sky Blues during the recent summer transfer window.

During his spell in England, Gyokeres scored 43 goals in 116 matches for Coventry across all competitions.

The player himself is said to have set his sights on becoming a regular goalscorer for one of Europe’s biggest clubs in the coming years.

With that in mind, he is expected to assess potential interest from clubs in Italy and Spain before deciding upon his next move.
