Chelsea will make a move to try and sign Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell when their transfer ban ends next summer, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the best left sided defenders in the Premier League and is also Gareth Southgate’s first-choice in that position for England.

But, according to The Sun, the Foxes will find it tough to keep hold of their academy product with the Stamford Bridge side reportedly keen on his signature.

It’s claimed that Frank Lampard is a keen admirer of Chilwell and wants to add him to his young, impressive Chelsea squad.

The Blues legend currently has Marcos Alonso and Emerson to choose from at left-back, but he doesn’t see  those as a long-term option.

However, it’s thought that champions Manchester City are leading the race for the player valued at around £50million.

Leicester are already reportedly looking at potential replacements for their star man with Bolton Wanderers’ Ronan Darcy.
