Chelsea could be set to sign Lewis Walker, son of England legend Des, after the 17-year-old spent a week on trial with the Premier League champions.

The 17-year-old currently plays for Ilkeston in the Northern Premier League but caught the eye of a number of clubs when he netted a brace in his side’s 4-1 FA Youth Cup victory over Shrewsbury earlier this month.

It’s not yet known whether the Blues will offer him a contract, but even if he doesn’t get the nod at Stamford Bridge a number of other top flight clubs are reportedly interested in signing him.

Lewis’ 19-year-old brother, Tyler, is also a striker and is part of Nottingham Forest’s first-team squad.

Des Walker played 59 times for England and was a part of the 1990 World Cup squad which reached the semi-finals in Italy.
