Last summer Chelsea broke the record for most amount of money spent in a single Premier League transfer window.

Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy, and Thiago Silva all arrived at Stamford Bridge in a summer outlay totalling £222 million.

It was an astounding transfer window for the Blues who made an enormous statement to the Premier League and to the rest of Europe.

Fortunately for the Blues, their enormous spending paid off as Thomas Tuchel came in and led the West Londoners to the Champions League trophy.

However, all of these signing were made under previous manager Frank Lampard, and Tuchel wants to add some of his own players to Chelsea’s squad.

One of these players is central defender Jules Kounde, and according to The Sun, Chelsea could be set to offer Sevilla forgotten man Kenedy plus cash in exchange for the impressive French defender.

Kounde has emerged as one of the best central defenders in Europe

Kounde was once described as the best defender in Europe by La Liga expert and Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague, and he enjoyed another impressive campaign with Sevilla.

The Frenchman is one of Chelsea’s top targets, and it appeared a move for the 22-year-old was going to involve a swap deal involving fellow French central-defender Kurt Zouma.

However, it appears Zouma opted out of a move to Sevilla; therefore, Brazilian midfielder and wing-back could be the next player to be offered to Julen Lopetegui’s side.

Kenedy spent last season on loan with Granada

Kenedy enjoyed a very impressive season on loan at Grenada where he scored four goals and contributed three assists in 28 La Liga appearances.

He also bring versatility as well as creativity where he has in the past featured as a wide midfielder on either flank and as a left-wing-back.
