Chelsea have been set an asking price of over £30million for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, according to reports.

After guiding his side to a top-four finish and FA Cup final in his first season in charge, Frank Lampard has bolstered his squad this summer with a number of impressive signings.

The Blues boss has already brought in the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and Malang Sarr.

However, according to the Telegraph, it seems Lampard also has eyes on bringing in a new goalkeeper ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

Lampard is moulding his squad for the 2020/21 season.

It’s claimed that the Stamford Bridge club are targeting a swoop for Mendy, 28, who has impressed in his first season from Rennes after signing from Stade de Reims.

Chelsea have reportedly had a £15million offer rejected and have been told they will have to pay over double than that to land the Senegal international.

Kepa Arrizabalaga was signed for a record fee of £71million two years ago but – having been dropped on more than one occasion in favour of Willy Caballero – it’s thought that the Spaniard hasn’t impressed his manager.
