Chelsea have been very busy during the transfer window, unfortunately their revolving door has been spinning faster in the exit direction, than the entrance.

The Blues are experiencing a spectacular exodus of many of their academy players, with high profile youngsters Fikayo Tomori, Marc Guehi, Tino Livramento, Lewis Bate and many more departing Stamford Bridge.

It is a complete turnaround from Frank Lampard’s spell as manager which saw young players given new hope by the opportunities given to the likes of Mason Mount, Reece James, Billy Gilmour, Fikayo Tomori, and Tammy Abraham.

Unfortunately for many of the academy players, those five players are mere exceptions rather than the rule itself, that is why they are leaving in droves.

However, in brighter new to Chelsea fans, the West Londoners have been given fresh hope in their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku as Inter Milan have told the Blues they must pay around £100 million for the Belgian, according to the Metro.

Lukaku scored 24 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season

Thomas Tuchel’s side have been in the market to sign a striker all summer, and with Erling Haaland appearing to stay at Borussia Dortmund for at least one more year, they have turned their attention back to former striker Lukaku.

The 28-year-old midfielder was signed for Chelsea from Anderlecht by former manager Andre Villas-Boas, however, he was never really afforded an opportunity at Stamford Bridge, and was shipped off to West Bromwich Albion and Everton on loan.

Despite many impressive performances at the Baggies and the Toffees, Chelsea sold the striker to the latter for £28 million.

He later went on to play for Manchester United, before moving to Inter Milan, where he won the Serie A title.
