Chelsea supporters vented their frustration at manager the club’s ownership as well as the team’s performance as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Brentford on Saturday.

The Blues took the lead early on but found themselves trailing in the second half, before defender Axel Disasi rescued a point late on.

Despite avoiding defeat, Chelsea remain 11th in the Premier League table and are some way off of the qualification spots for next season’s European competitions.

During the game against the Bees, Chelsea supporters could be heard venting their frustration about the club’s ownership, manager Mauricio Pochettino, and the team on the pitch.

Pochettino’s future remains uncertain as the season draws to a close, but it has also emerged that the London club have turned their attention away from one of their transfer targets.

Toney is set to be the subject of interest from several clubs this summer

According to Fabrizio Romano on his Caught Offside podcast, Chelsea have turned their attention away from Brentford striker Ivan Toney and are chasing other targets.

The Englishman, who has scored four times in eight games since returning from a lengthy ban for breaching FA betting rules, is said to be the subject of interest from several clubs.

Chelsea had been among the favourites to land the 27-year-old, but Romano claims that they are no longer convinced that he is the correct candidate to solve their attacking problems.

Toney joined the Bees from Peterborough United in 2020 and has since made 132 appearances across all competitions, scoring 72 goals and providing 21 assists.

The striker was absent for the first part of the current campaign, but made his return in January and made an instant impact for Thomas Frank’s side.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal have also shown an interest in the England international, Romano claims, and the two clubs could now move for Toney with Chelsea pursuing other targets.
