Chelsea are considering a big-money swoop for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for the Red Devils but has impressed on loan at Sheffield United the last two seasons.

This year, the Whitehaven-born stopper helped the Blades secure a top-10 finish on their return to the Premier League.

It’s that kind of form which the Mirror reports has caught the eye of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.

The Blues boss again dropped the world’s most expensive goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, for Sunday’s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Kepa doesn’t seem to be in Lampard’s long-term plans.

And it’s claimed that Lampard is looking for a new keeper and that he’s ready to offer £55million, plus a £170,000-a-week deal in an attempt to land the English stopper.

However, it’s claimed that Henderson will first seek assurances over his situation at Old Trafford as he aims to break into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans.

If he isn’t guaranteed a fair chance to replace David de Gea at Old Trafford then – if these reports are correct – it seems that Chelsea could be his destination.
