Chelsea are reportedly set to make a summer swoop for Chile international star Arturo Vidal, according to the Daily Mail.
The defending Premier League champions, who currently sit tenth in the English top-flight standings after defeating rock-bottom Aston Villa 4-0 on Saturday, have identified the FC Bayern Munich midfielder as one of their top transfer targets once the 2015-16 campaign has concluded.
The 28-year-old, who has 74 international caps for his country, has scored four goals and provided eight assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga leaders so far this season.
Vidal; who arrived at the Allianz Arena from Serie A giants Juventus only last summer, still has three years left to run on his current contract, with Bayern desperate to keep the central midfielder, despite manager Pep Guardiola’s departure to Manchester City come June.
The report suggests that Chelsea’s newly appointed boss Antonio Conte, as of this summer, has made Vidal one of his top priorities over the forthcoming transfer window, although any potential deal is likely to cost upwards of £30m.
