Chelsea will be looking for just their second win of the Premier League season when they face Fulham on Monday evening.

The Blues have endured a difficult start to the new campaign, with their only league win so far being victory over Luton Town last month.

At present Mauricio Pochettino’s side sit 14th in the table, however they have progressed to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup courtesy of victories over AFC Wimbledon and Brighton and Hove Albion.

Pochettino will be hoping that his side can defeat the Cottagers on Monday night, but in the meantime he may have been handed a boost.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea are well-placed to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen if the Nigerian leaves his current club.

The 24-year-old is one of Europe’s most prolific forwards but has had his future in Naples thrown into doubt after a video mocking the player was posted on the club’s official social media channels.

Osimhen faces an uncertain future at Napoli

Osimhen joined Napoli from French side Lille back in 2020 and has since scored 63 goals in 108 appearances for the club across all competitions, as well as providing 15 assists.

Last season the Nigeria international netted 26 times in the league as Napoli lifted the Serie A title for the first time in 30 years.

Chelsea have struggled in front of goal since the start of last season and the report claims that the Blues have had an interest in Osimhen for some time now.

It is also claimed that, if Osimhen does leave Naples, those in charge of Chelsea could regard a potential deal as ‘too good to miss out on’.

Osimhen’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025 but his agent recently threatened his current employers with legal action after the video was posted on line in the wake of the player’s penalty miss against Bologna.
