Chelsea will want in excess of £50m as Borussia Dortmund line up a permanent offer to sign Belgium international striker Michy Batshuayi, according to the London Evening Standard.

The Premier League side, who came from two goals down to defeat relegation threatened Southampton 3-2 at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, have been linked with selling the forward during this summer’s transfer window.

The 24-year-old, who has 12 international caps for his country, has scored nine goals in 14 appearances whilst on loan at Bundesliga outfit Dortmund this season.

Before joining the German side on loan for the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign back in January, Batshuayi netted 12 times in 26 outings for The Blues in all competitions.

Borussia Dortmund’s Michy Batshuayi celebrates scoring against Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, he was loaned out to Dortmund after being deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge by manager Antonio Conte, having brought in fellow striker Olivier Giroud from Arsenal in the New Year.

The report claims Dortmund want to pursue a deal to make the Belgian’s loan move permanent this summer, but Chelsea will demand a fee of around £50m to part with the 24-year-old, who is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the season after sustaining ankle ligament damage against Schalke on Sunday.
