Chelsea have reportedly told legendary defender John Terry that this season will be his last at the club, according to The Times.

The Premier League side, who recorded their ninth straight league victory after defeating West Brom 1-0 at the weekend to remain three points clear at the summit of the top-flight standings, are set to release the centre-back come the end of the 2016/17 campaign in May.

The 36-year-old, who earned 78 international caps for England between 2003-2012, has been restricted to just eight appearances in all competitions for The Blues so far this season.

Terry, who is attracting interest from several Chinese Super League outfits ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window, will however be offered another role at Stamford Bridge beyond next summer.

The defender; who came through Chelsea’s youth ranks after spending time with West Ham United previously, has racked up 703 games for The Blues since making his first-team debut against Aston Villa in October 1998, netting 66 goals.
