Chelsea are working on deals for two players as Thomas Tuchel looks to bolster his defensive options ahead of the upcoming season.

As reported by The Athletic, the Blues are in talks with Leicester City over a potential move for centre-back Wesley Fofana.

The 21-year-old is valued by his current side at around £80 million, however Chelsea are hopeful that they will be able to lower the cost of a deal by offering players to Leicester.

Tuchel is desperate to add at least one more central defender to his squad having lost both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger at the end of the season.

Dumfries could be on his way to London

The Blues have already signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, but failed in their attempts to land Jules Kounde and Matthijs de Ligt.

Chelsea are also working on a deal to sign Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries, the report claims.

The Dutchman earned himself a move to the Italian side after impressing at Euro 2020, and could now be on his way to Chelsea, it is suggested.

The 26-year-old is versatile and can play in a number of positions on the right, including at wing-back which could make him a useful option for Tuchel.
