Chelsea look set for a busy summer in the transfer market, following the appointment of Xabi Alonso as their new manager.

The Blues confirmed the signing of full-back Marco Palestra from Serie A side Atalanta on Wednesday, following Marc Cucurella’s departure to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The west London outfit are unlikely to stop there, though, with Alonso and those in charge of the club’s recruitment set to continue searching for other potential transfer targets.

Now, it appears that one member of Chelsea’s squad is set to depart the club on a permanent basis.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Everton have agreed a deal to sign winger Tyrique George permanently from the Blues, following his loan spell on Merseyside last term.

George, 20, is a product of Chelsea’s fruitful youth system and has played 37 times for the club at senior level, scoring six goals and registering the same number of assists.

He joined the Toffees on loan ahead of last season, and made a total of 11 appearances for the club in all competitions, but failed to find the back of the net.

It appears he impressed enough at Everton last season, though, with the Toffees now set to pay an initial fee of £18 million for the player, according to Romano.

He also claims that Everton could pay an additional £6 million in add-ons, while Chelsea will also benefit from a 15% sell-on clause if the Merseyside club sell the player.

George’s current contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire at the end of the upcoming season, but it appears that he will now be signing a long-term deal with Everton.

A deal has been agreed between the two clubs, with George himself having also finalised an agreement on personal terms, Romano says.
