Premier League defender Papy Djilobodji is reportedly set to join Werder Bremen on loan this month, according to the Mirror.

The Chelsea centre-half, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £2.7m back in September from Nantes, has severely struggled to work his way into the Blues’ first-team plans this campaign.

The 27-year-old; who has 12 international caps for Senegal, has played just ONE minute of football for Guus Hiddink’s side this season, coming in a very brief substitute appearance during Chelsea’s 4-1 League Cup victory over Walsall.

Now it looks inevitable that Djilobodji will be leaving the Londoners before the close of the January transfer window, with Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen in pole position.
