Cesc Fabregas is reportedly ready to consider leaving Chelsea during the forthcoming January transfer window, according to Squawka.

The Premier League side, who comfortably defeated Southampton 2-0 at St Mary’s on Sunday to move within one point of the top-flight’s joint-leaders Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool, could decide to offload the Spain international in the new year having fallen out of favour under manager Antonio Conte.

The 29-year-old, who has lifted the World Cup (2010) and two European Championships (2008 and 2012) with his country, has scored two goals and provided two assists in six appearances in all competitions for The Blues so far this season.

However ex-Arsenal ace Fabregas, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from FC Barcelona back in June 2014 for a reported £30m, would only consider a loan move away from the club if he were to join an ‘elite level’ side.

The Spaniard, who is currently recovering from a thigh problem, is under contract with Chelsea until 2019 and is understood to earn £220,000-a-week, with image rights and loyalty bonus included.
