The European Championships enters the second round of group stage games, and plenty of Premier League stars have impressed at the tournament so far.

The likes of Kai Havertz and Cody Gakpo have both been on the scoresheet, while defenders including Marc Guehi have impressed at the back.

One Premier League player that struggled on his tournament debut, however, was Ukraine winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Chelsea man failed to make much of an impact as his side slumped to a surprise 3-0 defeat against Romania in their Group E opener on Monday, leaving them in a precarious position ahead of a game against Slovakia on Friday.

Now, it appears that one Ukraine player could be in line for more bad news at club level.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea’s pursuit of Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has thrown Mudryk’s Stamford Bridge future into doubt.

Mudryk enjoyed a frustrating season for Chelsea last term

The Blues are one of a number of clubs that are said to be interested in french winger Olise, and the report claims that the club have decided to step up their interest in the player.

That could spell trouble for Mudryk, 23, who joined Chelsea from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in January last year for a fee of up to £88.5 million.

Since arriving in London, the Ukraine international has struggled for form and has scored just seven times in 54 appearances across all competitions, providing only four assists.

It is also claimed that Chelsea could be prepared to sell fellow winger Raheem Sterling if Olise does make the switch across London to Stamford Bridge, with the Englishman also having struggled to recreate his best form since joining the club.

Mudryk’s current contract with Chelsea is set to run until the end of the 2030/31 campaign.
