Chinese Super League club to tempt West Ham United’s new signing with £5.5m-a-year offer

New Premier League signing Emmanuel Emenike could still be set to make a move to China in the short-term future after it emerged he is still a transfer target in the Far East, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Nigeria international; who only joined West Ham United on loan from Turkish giants Fenerbahce until the end of the 2015-16 campaign, with the option to make the switch permanent this summer, is still being monitored by Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenhua.

The 28-year-old, who has 37 international caps for his country, made his Hammers debut in Slaven Bilic’s side’s 1-0 defeat at Southampton at the weekend, playing 17 minutes after coming on as a substitute at St Mary’s Stadium.

Emenike revealed he turned down previous interest from China to join West Ham in the first place, although the report now suggests that Shenhua could offer the hitman a whopping offer worth £5.5m-a-year to play in the Far East following his loan spell at Upton Park.

Shenhua have also been heavily linked with a move for France international and Chelsea forward Loic Remy before the close of their transfer window on February 26.
