Chelsea returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion with a 4-0 victory against Southampton on Tuesday night.

The Blues had won just two of their previous ten Premier League matches going into Tuesday’s game, but Christopher Nkunku settled any nerves with his 14th goal of the season midway through the first-half.

Nkunku then turned provider for Pedro Neto to double the Blues’ lead, before Neto’s free-kick was headed in by Levi Colwill to put the hosts in full control at the break.

Marc Cucurella added a fourth in the second half, securing Enzo Maresca’s side all three points and moving them back into the top four.

The West London side had enjoyed a superb season until Christmas, where their form took a steep dive.

Those in charge of the club may once again look to bolster Maresca’s squad when the transfer window reopens this summer, but it appears that they face stiff competition in the race to land a Europa League striker.

According to CaughtOffside, Aston Villa have joined Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal in showing interest in Porto’s Samu Aghehowa.

Omorodion came close to joining Chelsea before joining Porto

The 20-year-old joined Porto form Spanish side Atletico Madrid last summer, having been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.

The report suggests that, while both the Blues and the Gunners remain interested in the striker, Villa have become the latest side to enter the race for his signature.

Aghehowa has scored 19 goals in 31 games for Porto so far this term, as well as registering three assists.

It is claimed that Aghehowa is now valued by his current employers at more than £40 million, which could restrict the number of clubs that could realistically afford to sign him.

West Ham United are also said to hold a long-standing interest in the Spain international, who made his senior debut for his country in November last year.
