Could Arsene Wenger land these 3 players linked with Arsenal in January?

What a signing this would be for Arsenal if they got a deal done in January!

The 24-year-old is falling down the pecking order at Real Madrid, and has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Premier League should the Spanish side consider selling him.

He has started just once in La Liga for Zinedine Zidane’s side this season, and could be subject of a bidding war between the Gunners, league leaders Manchester City, and Arsenal’s North London rivals, Tottenham, should he be available to leave.

Signing Isco would be a major coup for any of these three sides, so Wenger should do all he can to get the Spanish international to the Emirates.

Kieran Tierney is the kind of signing Arsenal like to make in the January window. He’d be one for the future, who might get a cameo in the first team here and there against weaker teams or if Arsenal progress in the FA Cup.

On the other hand. Arsenal have Kieran Gibbs, and while Tierney is a fine prospect, Gibbs is a much better player at this point and with Arsene Wenger’s noted loyalty, it is hard to imagine him passing over Gibbs for Tierney for first team action.

Isco could be available, Madrid aren’t playing him and he’d bring in cash, so it is possible, but signing major first team stars in January is extremely un-Arsene Wenger-like. Isco himself said he intended to stay at Madrid until the end of the season.

Footballers do lie about transfers (Jamie Vardy: I won’t negotiate during Euros) but Isco is not some end of the bench scrub; he’s had a major role at Madrid in the past and might again.

Riyad Mahrez won’t play for Arsenal. He signed his Leicester deal and like Vardy, he’ll live and die with the fortunes of the Foxes. Relegation in a year or two is more likely than a move to The Emirates.
