Conte could lure these 2 Arsenal players to Chelsea in January

Chelsea got their Premier League run back on track with a win over champions Leicester City at the weekend, having lost to Tottenham the following round of games.

With Manchester United and Liverpool drawing 1-1 the gap between the Blues and the chasing pack is now seven points, with Spurs sat in second, level on points with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Having no European commitments has been a help to Antonio Conte’s side in their pursuit of a second league title in three years, but the former Juventus manager may still feel that he needs more to sustain their charge for the league.

With the January window being a dangerous time to delve into the market for new additions, Conte will have to be careful about who he brings in should start by looking close to home.

Thus, he could look at other proven Premier League players in a bid to bolster his squad, so here are TWO Arsenal stars he could try and lure to Stamford Bridge in January…

Santi Cazorla

Santi Cazorla is still yet to agree a new contract at Arsenal and, with his current one due to expire in the summer, they risk him being turned by other clubs in January.

And Chelsea could be one of those clubs interested in the 31-year-old.

Any side in the Premier League would benefit from having the Spaniard in their team, such have been his consistently high-level performances for the Gunners since moving there in 2012.

Although he is currently sidelined with an injury, the World Cup winner would be a perfect addition for a late title run in should Conte need further options.

When he’s not creating chances, he’s marshalling the middle of the park, and has the ability to produce a defence-splitting pass from nowhere.

If Arsenal don’t get a deal sorted soon, many clubs will be circling the Emirates as they try to lure Cazorla away from North London.

Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez’s current deal at Arsenal ends in 2018 but, given he is one of the Gunners’ best players, a new and improve contract is likely to be needed to fend off interest in the Chilean.

However, that has not yet been agreed, with Sanchez reportedly demanding £200,000 a week and assurances over Arsenal’s ambitions in the next few years before pledging his future, whilst there are plenty of lucrative offers on the table.

With money not an issue for Chelsea, and a recent track record of challenging for the Premier League title, they could pursue an interest in the in-form 27-year-old.

The former Barcelona man has scored eight goals in 14 appearances for the Gunners this season, and is clearly revelling in the more advanced role he is undertaking under Arsene Wenger.

His displays this season have proved what an integral player he is to Arsenal, and what a great player he is in English football.

It would take one hell of an offer for Conte to poach the forward, but it would be paid off in numerous titles.
